Net sales for G-III Apparel Group, a company that sources and markets apparel and accessories, increased by 9.6 per cent to $3.08 billion for the fiscal year ending January 31, 2019 from $2.81 billion in the prior year. For Q4 2019, the company reported record net sales increase by 7.3 per cent to $766.8 million from $714.9 million in Q4 of last year.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) recently invested in Turkish e-commerce platform Modanisa, which received its second global investment within three months. The funds will be used to strengthen its e-commerce and logistics infrastructure and help more Turkish ready-to-wear brands and manufacturers reach world markets.

The board of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has given permission for the appointment of the well-known fashion designer Tom Ford as its next chairman, effective June 2019. Ford will succeed Diane von Furstenberg, CFDA's current chairwoman. Furstenberg was named president of the CFDA in 2006 and became chairwoman in 2015.
